Fun Fact: Rose Quartz crystals, also known as the Love Stone, see the title makes sense now, are part of stories dating back to Aphrodite. Although its history is long, its future won’t be if you keep yours in the sun. Sunlight fades the colour. Yes, you can go move it. I’ll wait here…
Ok, you back now? Ready for my story?
Folklore tells us that Rose Quartz started out as a generic Clear Quartz crystal however during battle Adonis was injured badly and Aphrodite raced to her love however she cut herself on the way and their blood dripped together onto the clear quartz and turned it to a shade of pinkish red. Their love was trapped through their combined blood in the stone and passed down through the ages as a token and talisman representing and healing all matters of the heart.
However, I have one small issue with this… it is a gesture to give your partner a rose quartz to represent your love… however Aphrodite was known to have many loves, so it might be best to ask for a bulk deal and get a bag full when you buy this token, you may need another one or two in the future.
Magical Use: The most common spell you will find involving Rose Quartz is a love spell – ‘How to make Alex fall in love with me’. This is something I urge you to stay away from. Think about it, you don’t want someone to love you because a stone made them, you want your witty personality and striking good looks to do that. However, a spell for Rose Quartz I am happy to recommend would be a healing one.
Anyone that practices spell work knows the best chants are ones that come from your own being, however if you need some assistance, here is an example you could use and manipulate depending on your cause.
“Oh Aphrodite, great goddess of Love,
I ask that you assist me and watch over me from above.
My heart is aching, and my pain now governs me,
I offer to you this stone, may your love and guidance set me free.
Non-Magical Use: If you feel Rose Quartz does not work for you in this way and you would prefer it stay just a pretty pink stone, you can get a cheap necklace from stores such as Collette at any Westfield for less than $20. – Although please do not think Aphrodite is cursing you if the stone falls out. The glue was probably just not very good. Re-glue and continue to be your beautiful self!
